I guess I'll start with the last part of the subject line first so I can get on to more exciting things. I came down with some sort of sinus crap on Thurs evening. and started coughing on Friday, I coughed all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Today and the result is I have almost NO VOICE at all. (at the moment I sound like Froggy on the Little Rascles) I guess it's a good thing I'm not recording this week as a voice actor and am only directing this upcoming week.|
Speaking of Directing. The first week of Nerima Daikon Brothers is over, and Wow what a great week it's been. The cast is AMAZING, and I'm so pleased with all of their work, I spend about half of my time in the studio laughing till I'm almost in tears at what they're doing. I was actually able to get in the performers playing Hideki, Ichiro, Mako and Pandaikon this week (while they've still got more recording to do) I've now gotten to hear the three of them together and I love what I'm hearing.
I've also gotten all of Yukika's (The Gadget Detective)dialogue recorded and am very pleased with the way she sounds (We've gotten one song for her done, and all I can say is WOW her voice is sexy in this role)
Gotten episode Villians done for Eps 1 & 3 and they're both hysterical, and their songs are beautiful. So it's been a productive but very busy week.
I will say one thing. This has really turned into the best of both worlds for me. As a stage director, one of the things I like the most about the work is when I get to work one on one with an actor and help them build moments in the show. It's often hard to do, becuase you've usually got anywhere from 8 - 20 other people waiting around to be worked with also, so you can't always do as much as you'd like. Well because of the nature of the beast that ADR recording is, you're almost always working one on one with a particular actor, and so that's something that I've found that I really love about this gig. I'm just hopping that the show will be good, and well recieved and it will eventually turn into more gigs like this.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a happy and safe holiday. Take care.
Love and Laughter Always
p.s. sorry I can't say who the cast is, but I think the Guessing Game on AOD is going to start very soon, and Janice would kill me if I gave any of the cast away. Once the game is done I'll be albe to talk more spacifically about what I'm doing.
